When I started working for TLI 6 years ago I used to tell everyone that I would stay here till I died. They were one of the best I had worked for in 30 years of trucking. I think we all run into this at some point and then something goes wrong in our life and that great trucking company we work for turns its back on us.

This is what we called true colors where I came from. This goes on a million times a day. For drivers who have never had a workers compensation claim, your going to have this happen to you someday. Most people drive a car 150,000 miles in 10 years. A real get down ROAD RANGER drives 150,000 miles in 1 year. You can be the best trucker we have ever seen but what if you open your trailer doors one day and here it comes right on your head a box that has 100 lbs in it. Trucker's 4 Trucker's Hands Across America

As any trucker who's had or haves a worker's comp claim knows that state laws DO NOT understand truck drivers. The laws are for employee's who are home everyday not trucker's who may live 500-1000 miles away from the employer's.(trucking companies) When a doctor releases you to light duty how does someone drive 500-1000 miles to work everyday to answer phones. (that's what trucking companies like to call light duty) When you don't show up for light duty they fire you. There goes your medical and any income you had. In my case (it's still going on) They sent me to doctors who didn't treat me but ran test after test to prove what I didn't have. Then they sent me to a doctor who did BOTOX on lips and HAIR REMOVAL ON WOMEN that released me to full duty. (I take methadone,and other Pain med's that my own doctor gave me) She knew what med's I was taking as the comp doctor's would not give me any med's per insurance company. She knew this and I have MRI'S I had done by my own doctors that she seen and she still released me to DRIVE ACROSS AMERICA to maybe run over someone and kill them then go to jail for the rest of my life. So I said OK I need a D.O.T. PHY to drive again. I am in such shape the trucking company (TRANSCO LINES) had the safety director drive me to the doctor. (they knew I was on company time and didn't want me to drive my car)The company doctor said YOU CAN'T DRIVE and FAILED MY D.O.T. PHY. Now the comp doctor released me and the company doctor failed me to drive due to the injury. So TRANSCO LINES FIRED ME. I was there 6 years. Now I have no income and no medical as I was using my group plan. I GET $162 A MONTH FOOD STAMPS and NO INCOME OR MEDICAL and the kicker ARKANSAS WORKER'S COMPENSATION SAID THEY COULD DO THIS! I have a CLOSED HEAD INJURY,NECK DAMAGE AND BACK INJURY and I have 4 DOCTOR'S that my GROUP PLAN PAID that say I'M TOTAL DISABLED FROM ANY EMPLOYMENT FROM MY ON THE JOB INJURY ON 11/4/07. This is why we need FEDERAL COMPENSATION just like the RAILROAD,and SEAMAN do as they knew a long time ago state compensation didn't apply to the jobs they did. I will write more as I can't sit very long. Oh FYI I have a IQ of 78 (70 is re tared) after my injury per the insurance doctor that gave me test for a full day.
